three times over
a broken heart
three times over
we fell apart
three times over
I see the truth
three times over
I'll never again
be with you.
I
have been working on jewelry for over a year now. As a source to
comfort depression and a need for expression, armor/jewelry making
has been a solid friend for some good time now. It got me through a
32 day USA tour with Cigarette, was inspired by and sold at farmer's
markets in Hawaii, and my first job in Richmond 9 months ago was at a
bead store, where I excelled with it's amazing resources to generate
new ideas. About a month ago, I was approached by a woman at the
Starbucks I go to almost every day about a necklace I was wearing - a
necklace that I made. She asked who made it and as soon as she found
out it was me, she became excited and asked me to come into her store
so that she could sell them. Last night these necklaces left my hands
and went to their new temporary shelter - Need Supply. My hopes
through this opportunity is to continue to elevate the integrity and
quality of my work and be inspired. And I have to say, not much of
why I create stems from sadness now, but instead through excitement
and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through
this silly hobby (that didn't have to go anywhere besides just making
things for my friends, which will never stop anyway). All the warmth
and love, I couldn't ask for more! An affirmation of sorts has taken
place and just know if you continue to be genuine with yourself and
your work, anything is possible and opportunities are everywhere.
DTDT forever and always!
THIS IS A POUCH NECKLACE I MADE A FEW MONTHS AGO. PHOTOGRAPHED BY ALICIA-KATE HALVERSON, A SWEET YOUNG LADY & FRIEND WHO RESIDES ON HER FAMILY'S MAGICAL FARM IN WEST VIRGINIA, WAS INTRIGUED BY THE COLORS & COMPOSITION OF THE POUCH. SO, I KNEW SHE HAD TO HAVE IT. IT IS PRECIOUS TO SEE THE POUCH HAVE A NEW LIFE & PURPOSE. IT WAS VERY THOUGHTFUL ALICIA TOOK THESE PHOTOS & SHARED THEM WITH ME. THANK YOU :) THE EXCHANGE OF OUR VISIONS & CREATIONS AFFIRM THAT WHAT (I) YOU PUT OUT INTO THE WORLD, COMES BACK TO YOU (ME):
ALL THE TIME.
ALL THE KINDNESS.
ALL THE THOUGHTFULNESS.
& ALL THE LOVE.
FULL CIRCLE.

DIGDOGDIG BLUE SPONGE CORAL ROPE NECKLACE 2012
"It is protective for anyone who lives, travels, or works by the sea.
It should be used when performing any sea or water magic.
It will help anyone who is self-employed or works from home to make better use of their leisure time.
Use it to relieve illnesses that sporadically return or are made worse by climate. It is good for all orthopedic conditions and for bone and cell regrowth. It will also help soothe skin inflammations, burns, and rashes."

SELF PORTRAIT
2012
right rib cage : skull from Caravaggio’s painting of Saint Jerome
My first tattoo, I was twenty-one traveling Paris with friends while I took a break from living in Florence, Italy for school. I was inspired by a painting I saw in Rome by Caravaggio where Saint Jerome was writing the Bible, while Adam’s skull sits on a pile of books. I could go in more detail of the meaning of this tattoo, but I prefer to keep it to myself.
left inner wrist : triangle
My second tattoo, I got in Hawaii. This tattoo represents a number of things, for the triangle is a powerful symbol representing Fire when pointed up, Water pointed down - it is also represents going upward - moving forward, and more specifically I got this tattoo when my father came back into my life and my parents got back together. The triangle represents the two of my parents becoming one = me.
right pinky finger : crescent moon
My third tattoo, I got on my 25th birthday, which was spent in Hawaii. On my birthday there was a crescent moon and also where I was born - Hilo, Hawaii is in the shape of a crescent moon.
right inner arm : orbits of the moon and earth around the sun
This was my forth tattoo, which I got in Richmond, VA. I like the simplicity and aesthetic of this tattoo and it reminds me that the I am a small portion of the universe, the sun and moon will forever rise and fall, with or without me. This tattoo keeps me calm.
right pointer finger : eye
I also got this tattoo in Richmond, VA. It was impulsive and necessary. The all seeing third eye. Since I do a lot of work on the computer, my right pointer finger allows me to control many dynamic projects and creations, it helps me find things via the virtual world and move more than just a mouse. I also use this hand to point/make a point.
I look forward to getting more ink as my life evolves these are all very important to me.
