Q&A
FOR LAUREN KENNEDY'S LOOK BOOK PROJECT

NAME: Celeste Emiko Kamaha'o Rodero
HOMETOWN: Hilo, Hawaii/Arlington, Virginia
CURRENT LOCATION: Fairfax, Virginia
OCCUPATION: Senior at George Mason University and Sales Associate/Stylist for Madewell
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DAY-TO-DAY STYLE: (comfortable, eclectic, energetic) usually black, white, & denim + accessories.
WHERE DO YOU SHOP AND WHY: I shop anywhere and everywhere. I find my best pieces in the least expected places. There are no limits when it comes to style.
DO YOU HAVE A STORE THAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE: Target and most recently Five-below.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE TRANSFORMATION OVER THE YEARS: Now, 23 years-old, I have come to an age where I can truly reflect on how my personal style has evolved. There are a few things that have not changed: my boyish edge (my mom on the other hand calls it "being a tomboy"), desire for comfort at all times, and love for accessories. And there are a few things that have changed: understanding that size is just a number and all that matters is that it fits properly (not too tight, not too big), knowing trends aren't for everyone to follow, and accepting that making "fashion" mistakes are necessary and make life fun.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE IN YOUR WARDROBE: I am absolutely in love with my black Stretchy Skinny Jeans by Madewell. This isn't a plug either -- they are just too perfect: form fitting, flexible for any occasion, and extremely comfortable.
WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST FASHION INFLUENCE: cultural influences from my ethnic backgrounds, mother-nature, friends, history, and of course, MKA.
WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS FOR PICKING AN OUTFIT: As in anything I do, I usually get ready last minute, but if I know I need to get ready for a specific event or outing, I consider factors such as: weather, comfort, functionality, and color. I always have the most fun getting ready to go out at night with my girlfriends - those end up being the most memorable nights.
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE: I want to travel the whole world! But for now, I'm just looking forward to graduating college and letting my mind be free and creative while I live in Hawaii this summer.
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE BANDS: The Misfits.
WHAT DRAWS YOU TO SPECIFIC ITEMS OF CLOTHING:

and those ways they look and talk
they just move along as if they were perfect,
but perfection means nothing when
your face is stuck in the toilet,
after your mouth was on a stranger boy's dick,
and when you wake up unsure of where you are or how you got there.
keep sipping on that alcohol, girl ---
you'll have it made. outside, the sun shining, underneath a willow tree,
that concrete slab will say, "here rests the perfect college girl *cheers*"
