AS I BEGIN NESTING AT MY PARENTS HOUSE, IT'S HARD NOT TO REMINISCE, ESPECIALLY ABOUT THIS PAST YEAR. 2011 HAS BEEN FULL OF CHANGE, TRANSITION, ADVENTURE, AND SELF-GROWTH. AS A VISUAL-THINKER AND SOMEONE WHO USUALLY DOCUMENTS MY EVERY DAY LIFE, I'VE BEEN LOOKING THROUGH PHOTOS OF THESE "SHELTERS" AND THINKING WHERE MY MIND, BODY, AND SOUL WERE AT THAT TIME OF LIVING. IT'S ALL AN EMOTIONAL RIDE, BUT I MUST SAY - I AM BLESSED. BLESSED TO BE ON A GYPSY/NOMAD QUEST TO SELF-LOVE AND SELF-ACCEPTANCE. MY EYES ARE OPEN WIDER AND MY HEART IS GROWING BIGGER. LEARNING FROM MISTAKES AND REMINDING MYSELF TO JUST ENJOY THE RIDE. I AM THANKFUL. THANKFUL FOR ALL THE GOOD AND LOVE I HAVE FOUND ALONG THE WAY. THANKFUL FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO OPENED THEIR HOMES AND HEARTS TO ME, AND ALLOWING ME TO DO THE SAME TO THEM. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE GOOD TIME TOGETHER. KEEP GOING, NEVER KNOWING, ALWAYS GROWING, NEVER THAT LONELY.

I love collecting from nature. There is so much beauty and function in it all. I found these rocks at a local beach. It's absolutely amazing how they are weathered, having little holes to big holes, which ended up serving more than a visual stimulation. After bringing them home, where I have a table of "objects of inspiration", I saw that these rocks could be used as platforms for my other found objects from nature. I'm so into it.

WAL-MART HAT PROJECT



I bought this hat at WAL-MART (Hilo, HI has the busiest WAL-MART in the U.S.A. FYI) for $10. Being a sun baby, protection is important, and like I like to do everything, I like to do it with style. This hat originally came with a silly design, so I decided to add a personal touch. A little pleather, arrow head, and turquoise. The sewing job could have been better, but as long as it stays together, I'm happy - oh the joys of having endless free time on my hands :)
